Vivian & Matthew’s Wedding (November 13, 2010)
As wedding planners, we have to expect the unexpected, and to plan for the unplanned. This certainly happened in our early wedding planning season. We received a call from Matthew, Gary’s church friend, in September to inquire if we could helped their wedding planning. We were so happy to accept this invitation. In eight-week time, we helped them compiled their ceremony booklets, finalized their decorations in church and in the reception hall, and designed the wedding day rundown. Gary had such a good time working with Matthew as he is a very detail-oriented person. Monica enjoyed collaborating with Vivian as they both like pink and share similar visions on colours and decorations.
Vivian & Matthew had a traditional Chinese wedding banquet with several great touches. First they host their banquet in a prestigious reception hall with numerous gorgeous chandeliers. They perfected their grand entrance by using a spot light with a romantic song. During the banquet, Matthew’s friend, who is a magician, put Vivian & Matthew’s love story into a magic trick; and he performed another one to send his blessings to this newlywed. The banquet was climaxed with a video footage of their wedding day highlights.
We had such a great time coordinating their wedding day, particularly their sophisticated reception. Please check out our website to experience the joy and details of Vivian & Matthew wedding.

Karen & Edwin’s Wedding (September 12, 2010)
Karen and Edwin were referred to us by Michelle Fung, an artist and a talented wedding photographer. They came to us six months before their big day without a ceremony site, flowers, wedding cake, videographer, and an officiant. Let us not kid ourselves, these are all big chunks for the wedding, and it definitely added stress to the couple. With not much time left on our hands, we quickly met up with Karen and Edwin to better understand their personality and preferences. After doing so, we quickly started our research and worked our magic away.
While most venues were booked for other events and weddings already, I was really lucky being able to find the Vancouver Maritime Museum as a ceremony venue for Karen and Edwin. For those who haven’t been there before, you gotta go there! It is not your ordinary chapel or your regular backyard. Imagine having your ceremony right beside the False Creek, and having mountains and the Vancouver Downtown landscape as the natural backdrop. It’s just simply gorgeous!
Once the ceremony site is confirmed, everything just seemed more relaxed and easier. Given that we have a pool of resource already, it was a breeze finding the videographer and officiant for Karen and Edwin. While I was away for a month due to family emergency, Gary held down the forte to do all the research and vendor meetings. Gary did an amazing job finding Karen and Edwin a fabulous florist and an amazing wedding cake designer/chef, Celia from Blooming Buds and Paula from Aeyra Cakes.
Even though Karen and Edwin had their friends to manage their big day, I can see how elegant and poetic their wedding was through the images that Michelle captured for them. The romantic and misty natural backdrop, beautiful and fresh flower arrangements, elegant and detailed wedding cake, and of course their authentic love for each other was what made the wedding truly breathtaking.
